High Summer on Salt Spring Island

Celebrate the golden warmth of high summer with a day of flowers and food on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada. Siri and owner Claire Jutras invite students to spend the day at Earth Candy Farm, soaking in a wealth of natural beauty and floral camaraderie. After choosing their own organic blooms straight from the field, Siri will guide students in creating a foam-free centerpiece that embodies the wild abundance of the Gulf Islands in August. A table styling demo will follow, after which the group will join together in setting a communal tablescape. The class will culminate as we sit down to share a fresh, seasonal dinner al fresco beneath the sunset.

Earth Candy Farm is a community-driven farm business offering fair, organic food and flowers on Salt Spring Island, BC. Practicing cutting edge organic techniques to produce nutrient dense food and improve the land they manage, the goal at Earth Candy is to live a healthy life that is connected to nature and the people around it, and to share this lifestyle through their business and personal role modeling.
This class is open to all skill and experience levels. Price includes a light lunch, refreshments, dinner, vessel, reusable flower frog, floral supplies and flowers. Clippers will be provided for the duration of the class. Class size is limited and requires a minimum of six students to run. Fees are non-refundable once minimum class size is reached.
