High Summer on Salt Spring

August 2019 - Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada

Siri and owner Claire Jutras invited students to spend the day at Earth Candy Farm on Salt Spring Island, soaking in a wealth of natural beauty and floral camaraderie while celebrating the golden warmth of high summer with flowers and food. After choosing their own organic blooms straight from the field, Siri guided students in creating a foam-free centerpiece that embodied the wild abundance of the Gulf Islands in August. A table styling demo followed, after which we joined together in setting a communal tablescape. The class culminated as we sat down to share a fresh, seasonal dinner al fresco beneath the sunset.
