Workshop: A summer Centerpiece

A summer Centerpiece

August 2018 - SAn Juan island, WA

An afternoon spent on beautiful San Juan Island, WA practicing foam-free centerpiece design using the best local high-summer blooms. Students learned how to maximize the potential of a reusable kenzan, or flower frog, and took one home to use again and again. Siri demonstrated her process for creating organic, effortless arrangements inspired by the forms, combinations and contours of nature. Margaret Thorson, expert plantswoman and farmer, was also on hand to share her wealth of knowledge and answer students' questions about growing their own cut flowers. The class culminated with a tabletop styling demonstration and casual Q&A session. Photos by Cere Demuth & Siri Thorson.
