During July and August of 2017 I was invited to participate in Villa Lena’s Artist Residency program in Tuscany. As a Creative Contributor, I ran several workshops a week that were open to other artists and guests of the hotel. Working primarily with foraged materials, we explored flower arranging as a way to connect more deeply to the immediate natural surroundings as we walked the Villa’s fields, forests and olive groves. All bouquets, wreaths and flower crowns became a true expression of that particular place and time, and many were eventually returned to the land after completion.
